Anna Kay Stinson

Anna Kay (Cross) Stinson passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Wichita Falls, TX surrounded by family. Born November 22, 1943, in Caddo, OK, to Fuston & Mary Lou (Edwards) Cross. On December 14, 1962, at the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Willard Deece Stinson at the Altus Air Force Base Chapel. She loved him with her whole heart. They did everything together. They fished, hunted, quilted, cooked, planned reunions, and spoiled the grandkids. She loved talking about the numerous ways that he showed his love for her. He bought her, her first set of China dishes. He also sold some very precious things from his childhood to buy her first sewing machine. Her love for sewing began and never ended. She sewed clothes, curtains, quilts, table runners, just to name a few. They lived in Elmer, Ok 1966-1974, then they bought a house in Olustee, OK 1974 -Present and lived & raised their family there. After both kids were in school, she enrolled at Vernon Jr College and became an LPN. She was a nurse at Jackson County Memorial Hospital and Altus Air Force Base (Maternity) from 1973-1985. She had the privilege of being the delivery nurse when her sister Dorene had Jason. Every year, they helped plan & participate in the Edwards/Cross reunions during the summer. The reunions were very important to them. They began cracking their pecans in the garage, then soon others began bringing their pecans to them to crack. After about 8 years, they bought a building in Olustee and moved A&W Pecans into it. They continued to crack and shell pecans for another 10-15 years. The building became known are “The Nut House”. Every summer, they would go get their grandkids (when they were little) for a week and pack a month’s worth of activities and memories into that 1 week. As the kids got older, they would drive to Olustee to spend time with her. She also found great joy from restoring old wooden furniture and bringing it back to life. She was always on the lookout for a dresser or table that was thrown on the side of the road. She would load it up, take it home and strip it down, sand it, stain it, and make it beautiful again Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Fuston Woodrow Wilson Cross & Mary Lou (Edwards) Cross, her grandparents, Washington & Jane Cross and Hubert & Minnie Ola Edwards, her husband of 45 years, Willard Deece Stinson, sister Dorothy (Cross) Inman, brother Norman Cross, sister Lou Etta (Cross) Siemen, brother, JR Cross, sister Betty (Cross) Hunter and nieces Sharon Strand & Diane Snock, and best friend in the world, D’Eon Thomason. Anna is survived by her daughter Pamela (Stinson) Morath and husband Gary of Wichita Falls, TX, son, Ron Stinson and Shannon Davis, Ryelee & Russell of Claremore, OK, Grandchildren: Kirsten Morath of Wichita Falls, TX, Luke Morath & wife Paige (Daum) Morath of Wichita Falls, TX, Matthew Morath & Kaylee (Davenport) Morath of Wichita Falls, TX, Zadie (Morath) Ridge and husband Ryan of Yukon, OK, Jared Stinson of Claremore, OK and 2 great grandsons, Jackson Eugene Stinson and Theodore James Morath, her brother Phillip Cross of Kingston, OK, her twin sisters Dorene (Cross) Armstrong and husband Jerry of Broken Arrow, OK and Lorene (Cross) Newsom and husband Gary of Ringgold, LA, her brother-in-law Deryl Hunter of Altus, OK, and sister-in-law Glynis (Stinson) McClure & family of Tennessee. Public viewing for Anna will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, 9:30 A.M. until 10:00 A.M., People’s Funeral Home. Located at 1400 W. Main, Lone Wolf, OK, 580-846-9018. Graveside services for Anna will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, 11:30 A.M., at Altus City Cemetery with Gary Morath officiating.
