Alfred James Miller passed from this life on January 9, 2019 in Oklahoma City at age 84. Alfred was born on June 24, 1934 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, to Henry Miller and Bessie Lee (Taylor) Miller. He graduated from Cooperton High School and a few years later joined the United States Army and served in Alaska. He married the love of his life Patricia Ann Perkins on May 22, 1959 in Denver, CO. They were married for 56 years and to this union three children were born Karen, Vonda and James Michael. Alfred worked in Carpentry until 1980, then he opened Millers Station in 1981 and operated until 1997. Alfred was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt where he served as Sunday school Teacher, Sunday School Director as well a Volunteer for many youth activities. Alfred enjoyed working with his hands and being outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling all over southwest Oklahoma watching and supporting his grandchildren in all their sport activities. He loved watching the games and was their biggest fan. He doted over his nine great-grandchildren. Alfred is survived by two daughters, Karen Gracey of Sweetwater, OK., and Vonda Binghom and husband David of Hobart, OK. He leaves a legacy of seven grandchildren, Rachel Johnston and husband Jason of Oklahoma City, Randy Gracey of Marlow, Rebecca Gracey of Virginia Beach, Bryne Binghom and wife Dacia of Sentinel, Kim Laster and husband Rick of Erick, Jennifer Gracey of Virginia Beach and Jamie Rose and husband Jake of Hobart and nine great-grandchildren, James Mc Caskill, Alex Gracey, Jonathan Gracey, Lane Johnston, Blake Laster, Braden Johnston, Kennidi Rose, Joey Laster and Easton Binghom, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Alfred was preceded in death by his parent’s Bessie and Henry, beloved wife Patricia, infant son James Michael, one brother Carl Miller and two sisters Kathleen Williams and Lorene Miller. Services for Alfred are scheduled for Monday, January 14, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Cemetery. Viewing for Alfred will begin Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. until 5:00P.M. at Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home located at 1400 West Main, Lone Wolf, 580-846-9018.
