Bill Kent Kosanke

Bill Kent Kosanke was born on May 10, 1935 in the farmhouse two miles north of Lone Wolf to parents William and Emma Kosanke. Bill attended Lone Wolf School and graduated in 1953. He attended Oklahoma A&M and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1957 – the last class before the name changed to Oklahoma State University. He then served three years active duty as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, stationed on the Canadian border in a radar station from 1958 to 1961. Bill returned to live in Lone Wolf and engaged in farming and ranching. He served on many boards and committees, including the Oklahoma Wheat Commission and state officer in the FSA. He was County President of the Oklahoma Farmers Union and was a Farmers Union insurance agent for eighteen years. Bill married Ann McConnell on February 21, 1970 at the First United Methodist Church in Hobart, and they made their home in Lone Wolf. They had three children – Kristin, Suzanne, and Brad. Bill was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Lone Wolf, where he served as an Elder for over fifty years. He loved his Lord, family, church, community, country, friends, and OSU. He enjoyed listening to and singing Southern Gospel music with his fellow church quartet members, attending ballgames, his kids’ activities, and late in life – his grandkids. Bill was also known to tell and re-tell some old-time stories with his coffee drinking friends at C.J.’s. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, in 2016. He is survived by three children – Kristin and husband Tim Fricker of Edmond, OK, Suzanne and husband Frank Hale of Oklahoma City, Brad and wife Tamara of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by six grandchildren – Josh and Sam Fricker, and Kade, Grant, Ben, and Grace Kosanke. He will be greatly missed by many other relatives and friends. Services for Bill are scheduled Monday, April 18, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at the Lone Wolf School Auditorium. Public Visitation will begin Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home located at 1400 W. Main, Lone Wolf. (580)-846-9018.
