Dan Dalke, 87, Altus, OK Dan Dalke was born to Dan and Ida Dalke in El Reno, Oklahoma on June 30, 1927 and departed this life in Altus, Oklahoma on October 20, 2014 at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 20 days. During World War II, Dan served in the United States Army and again in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Lufern in 1957, six years after graduating from Oklahoma A&M College. Two sons were born, Dan Wayne (1959) and Mark Edward (1961). They moved to Dodge City, KS in 1962 where he managed Dodge City Automotive Supply until his retirement in 1983. In 1984, they relocated to Altus, OK to be closer to family. He and Lufern have been active members of the First United Methodist Church in Liberal, KS, Dodge City, KS and Altus, OK. He is preceded by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lufern Dalke of Altus, OK; two sons, Dan W. Dalke and his wife Kathy of Parker, CO, and Mark Dalke of Okarche, OK; and four grandchildren, Heather, Shawn, Brian, and Nathan all of Parker, CO; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Altus, OK with Pastor David Player, officiating. Burial will be at the Geary Cemetery in Geary, OK under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf, OK.
