Funeral service will be at the Abundant Life Church, Mangum, OK on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Edwin L. Porter officiating and assisted by Rev. Stephan Clark. Burial will be at the Reed Cemetery, Reed, OK with full Military Honors under the direction of People’s Cooperative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf, OK. Please view and sign the online guestbook at peoplescooperativefuneralhome.com “Billy” Dick Burcham Jr. was born to Dick and Geneva “Jean” (Hodson) Burcham in Greer County, Oklahoma on March 24, 1933 and departed this life in Clinton, Oklahoma on May 18, 2012 at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 24 days. Billy Dick grew up in the White Flat community where he attended primary school before graduating from Reed High School, Reed, OK. After high school he joined the Air Force to be part of the Security Police. He Married Elsie Sue Parker on April 13, 1954 in Reed, OK. and they made their home wherever the Military sent them. While serving in Vietnam he earned the Bronze Star Medal. After retiring from the Air Force they made their home in Reed, OK where he did farming and ranching, and was the Reed Cotton Gin Manager. He was a member of the Reed Baptist Church before they closed their doors and was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Mangum. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, Hub Burcham and a son, Garry Lynn Burcham. Survivors include his wife Sue of the home; 2 sons, Andy Burcham and wife Rita of Borger, TX and Jerry Burcham and wife Janet of Mangum, OK; a brother Duane Burcham and wife Connie of Austin, TX; a sister Barbara Stubblefield of Enid, OK; 3 grandchildren, Will Burcham, Luke Burcham and Cassie Burcham and many other family members and friends.
