Dorothy Jean Hanlin

January 25, 1930 - March 12, 2013

Dorothy Jean Hanlin was born to Marion Burr and Rosa (Adams) Spears in Granite, Oklahoma on January 25, 1930 and departed this life in Cordell, Oklahoma on March 12, 2013 at the age of 83 years, a month and 18 days. Dorothy grew up in Granite 1 of 13 children and 4 step children and graduated from Granite High School. During High School she worked for the drug store and once she graduated she started working for the Post Office in Lone Wolf, OK. She married David Allen Hanlin on March 2, 1951 in Lone Wolf, OK and he passed away on May 25, 1999. She worked as the secretary for the Housing Authority in Lone Wolf for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Lone Wolf and was involved in many church activities. She enjoyed cooking, her family, sports and reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by her husband; 7 brothers, Feldman, Stanley, Gordon, Marion Jr., Herman, Hayes and Franklin Spears; and a sister Anna Spears. Survivors include 3 sons, Bruce Hanlin and wife Teresa of Lone Wolf, Brandon Hanlin and wife Lisa of Lone Wolf and Brant Hanlin of Perry, OK; 3 daughters, Barbara and husband Jim Ambrose of Lone Wolf, Jane and husband Jay Berry of Oklahoma City, and Martha and husband Hank Jones of Lone Wolf; 18 grandchildren, Luke Hanlin and wife Chelsea, Nikki and Ty Burnett, Landon Hanlin, Colton Hanlin, Melissa Hanlin, Tim Hanlin, Kira Hanlin, Justin Hanlin, Cole Hanlin, Misty and husband Brad Montgomery, James Ambrose and wife Joy, Ben Berry and wife Lacey, Adam Berry and wife Melissa, Molli and husband Kyle King, Jacob Reeves and wife Heather, Brandon Jones, Dillon Jones and Joe Jones and wife Jenny; 16 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Jim Spears and wife Pat, Chester Spears and wife Jewel and Jerry Don Spears and wife Ruthie; 3 sisters, Bonnie Hughey, Judy Andurs and Gertie Spears and many other relatives and friends.
