Floyd Earl Whisenhunt passed from this life on December 1, 2016 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 89. Floyd was born to George Earl Whisenhunt and Margaret (Putman) Whisenhunt on February 2, 1927 in Yuba, Oklahoma. Floyd grew up around the Albany and Durant area attending grade school at Yuba. On November 4, 1944, Floyd married the love of his life Evelyn Davis in Altus, Oklahoma. He lived most of his life in Nebraska working in the construction business. Floyd was involved in many building projects such as highway construction, building bridges, commercial buildings, industrial plants, with Evelyn by his side working as a team. Floyd and his family traveled all over with the construction projects. When Floyd wasn’t working he liked to build martin bird houses, work on cars but when he could he especially liked to hunt and fish. Floyd is survived by two sons: Kenneth of Lincoln and Carlin and wife Joan also of Lincoln, Nebraska. Floyd leaves a legacy of six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, three sister-in-laws: Cleta (Davis) Chain of Hobart, Della (Davis) Collins also of Hobart and Ethel Whisenhunt and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, sisters Betty and Faye and brothers Calvin and R.A. Funeral Services for Floyd, are scheduled for Friday, 2:00 P.M., December 9, 2016 at People’s Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel, located at 1400 W. Main, Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Viewing will be Thursday, December 8, 2016, 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
