Jack D. Felter

Jack “J.D” Darrel Felter, age 75 passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015. J.D. was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on January 19, 1940 to Adolph Earnest Felter and Reva Mae (Chilton) Felter. J. D. grew up in the Lone Wolf area and was a lifelong resident of Kiowa County. He graduated high school in Roosevelt, and then went on to attend college in Weatherford at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. On November 20, 1964 he married Janet Maxine Weiss at the First United Methodist Church in Lone Wolf, OK, and together they had three children. He served in the National Guard Reserve and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lone Wolf. He enjoyed farming and working hard, but his true passion in life was doing custom harvest work and spending time with his family. He was a devoted friend, husband, and father, who will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Janet Felter of the home; a son, Matthew Felter of Hobart, OK; two daughters, Michelle Fischer and husband, Bobby of Lone Wolf, OK, and Molly Hedrick and husband, Chad of Altus, OK; a sister, Donna Weil of Elk City, OK; four grandchildren, Beau Fischer, Madison Fischer, Mackynzie Morris Felter, and Zachary Morris Felter; and a host of other relatives and friends. J.D. is preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at People’s Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel in Lone Wolf, OK with Pastor Jim Riley, officiating. Interment will follow at the Lone Wolf Cemetery in Lone Wolf, OK Viewing will be from 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m., with family receiving friends from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
