William Rhonald “Ron” Aebischer passed from this life on December 26, 2016 in Oklahoma City at the age of 77. Ron was born on May 20, 1939 in Mangum on the home place to William Orick Aebischer and Alice Reola (Simonton). Ron grew up in the Mangum area and attended school in Mangum. He began driving a truck at an early age and loved it so much that is exactly what he did throughout his lifetime working for companies such as Jewett Trucking out of Mangum, Lee Way Motor Freight, Republic Gypsum and Roadway Transportation where he retired from (after thirty plus years) and received the eleven million miles accident free award. He was a member of the American Iron Riders, and the Teamsters for nearly fifty years. Ron enjoyed many things but his favorites were archery, sailing and riding motorcycles and of course Ron always enjoyed a good race. Ron is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of the home, two sons: Rhonny Wayne and wife Amanda of Edmond and Dale Ray and wife Brenda of Midwest City, two sisters; Barbara Eakes of Hobart and Donna Inks of Granite, sister-in-law Helen Aebischer of Mangum. Ron leaves a legacy of three grandchildren; Devin, Troy and Cody and two great-grandchildren; Payton and Matti. Ron is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by brother Donny Wayne and sisters Mary Alice and LaWanna and great-granddaughter Kiley Dawn. Services for Ron are scheduled for Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00p.m. at the Peoples Funeral Home Chapel with John Werhan officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery with Troy Aebischer, Cody Aebischer, Devin Aebischer, Chris McMinn, Danny Windle and Luiz Mendoza serving as active pallbearers and Durwin Horton, George Wingo and Dick Ryan serving as honorary bearers. The Ironriders will escort Ron to the cemetery. Viewing for Ron will begin Thursday at 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to People’s Cooperative Funeral Home located at 1400 West Main, Lone Wolf, 580-846-9018.
